Italian courses for foreigners and language workshops

Intersos Lab organizes Italian courses for foreigners at different levels, from Pre-literacy to Basic and Intermediate levels. The courses, taught by qualified teachers in teaching Italian L2 and with experience in the context of migration, are offered free of charge and consider the specific needs of students, in particular mothers with babies or children not yet enrolled in kindergarten. For this purpose, a special baby space 0-3 years has been created to allow mothers to activate a path of empowerment in close synergy with the career guidance office.

Italian courses for foreigners are held both in the morning and in the afternoon and, if required, it is possible to provide orientation to the process of recognition of qualifications. The courses program follows a quarterly schedule, although it is possible to apply throughout the year.

The Pre-literacy courses are held on Wednesdays, from 10 am to 12 pm. The A1 courses are held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 10 am to 12 pm. The A2 courses are held on Thursdays and Fridays, from 10 am to 12 pm. The B1 courses are held on Tuesdays and Fridays, from 10 am to 12 pm.

At Intersos Lab you can also take the exams for Celi 1 Immigrati (A2) and Celi 2 cittadinanza (B1), which certificates are respectively necessary for the Long stay permit and Citizenship, and also relevant to social inclusion and job wanted. In the 2 months preceding the exam, Intersos Lab organizes free courses aimed at exam preparation. Trainees in teaching Italian L2, selected on the basis of the applications submitted on the site, are also constantly involved in the courses. Since 2020, the Intersos Lab Italian School has joined the Rete Scuole Migranti.

From July 2021, Intersos Lab is an examination center of the CVCL (Centro per la Valutazione Certificazioni Linguistiche) of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, with which it has entered into a scientific agreement since January 2022 aimed at strengthening and expanding mutual exchanges relations and collaboration in activities and projects in areas of common interest.

Since March 2022 Intersos Lab has signed an agreement with the Università degli Studi di Napoli L’Orientale for internship, training and orientation activities in the field of Italian language teaching.

Since 2021 Intersos Lab has been collaborating with Fondazione Near Onlus, a foundation working with B.Liver, children suffering from serious and chronic diseases, and from the synergy with their staff was born the idea to start a writing workshop that would allow students to tell their personal stories and their countries stories.

For students who wish, it is possible to participate in the editorial meetings, interviews and meetings organized and publish their articles once a month in the newspaper Il Bullone, the project of the Fondazione Near, inside the column "Lettere da mondi diversi".

Writing in the newspaper is also an occasion for students to get the badge as a social journalist.

Podcast

From the Writing workshop was then created a Podcast, a mix of storytelling and information aimed at spreading testimonies and important information on many topics about migration.

You can read a B.Liver and Intersos Lab students story published at “Il Bullone” here.
